plant 9–12 in. high; stem stout, nearly straight; leaves cauline, somewhat spreading, sessile from a sheathing base, linear-lanceolate or attenuate upwards and very acuminate, with strongly crisped-undulate margin, 3–5 lin. long; scapes 9–12 in. long; spikes oblong, 2–4 in. long, dense, many-flowered; bracts ovate, shortly acuminate, 6–8 lin. long; pedicels 5–6 lin. long; flowers medium-sized, pale yellow with the apex of the petals and limb of the lip deeper yellow; dorsal sepal elliptic-oblong, obtuse or slightly dilated and emarginate at the apex, 3 1/2 lin. long; lateral sepals connate to or beyond the middle into a suborbicular limb, 4 lin. long, slightly concave, lobes obtuse or apiculate; petals obliquely obovate-orbicular, conduplicately folded, obtuse at the inner angle, with very sinuate rounded margin, 4 lin. long, obtusely saccate at the base; lip broadly unguiculate; limb sharply reflexed, flabellate from a broadly cuneate base, emarginate, 2 lin. long, with rounded lobes; appendage bipartite, divaricately recurved, oblong, dilated, truncate and crenulate at the apex, 2 1/2 lin. long; column short; arms of the rostellum rounded, short, recurved. null
