Information
Shrub, 1–1.5 m tall; young twigs pubescent, with beige to pale grey smooth bark. Leaf-blades somewhat leathery, elliptic to ovate, 0.5–1.5(–1.7) x 0.2–0.7(–0.9) cm, drying blackish, pubescent and dull on both sides or glabrescent, obtuse at apex; petiole 1–2 mm long, pubescent; stipules 1.5–2 mm long, acuminate, the tip sometimes ending in a short awn up to 0.5 mm long, somewhat pubescent within, soon falling. Inflorescences sessile, terminal on very short spurs off the main and lateral branches, up to 0.5 cm across (excl. corollas); inflorescence branches and pedicels absent. Calyx glabrous; limb-tube up to 0.5 mm long; lobes triangular, up to 1 mm long, ciliate. Corolla greenish-white, glabrous outside, throat covered with long white hairs; tube 3–3.5 mm long; lobes 3.5–4 mm long. Fruit black when ripe, longitudinally ribbed, 3–5 mm in diam., with persistent calyx-limb, 1-seeded; seed spherical, endosperm ruminate at the base.
