Information
A glabrous perennial herb; stems twining or prostrate, rounded or angular, often longitudinally wrinkled but otherwise smooth, ochraceous. Leaf-blade orbicular to ovate, 5–16 cm. long, 5–14 cm. wide, acuminate or cuspidate and mucronulate at the apex, deeply cordate at the base; petiole 3.5–6 (–16) cm. long. Flowers usually solitary, rarely in few-flowered cymes; peduncle 0.75–7(–12) cm. long; pedicels 1.5–3 cm. long, becoming much thickened in fruit. Sepals elliptic, subequal, 1.6–2 cm. long, 1.1–1.2 cm. wide, attaining 3 cm. in fruit, obtuse at the apex; margins hyaline. Corolla opening about midnight, white and/or pale greenish-yellow, salver-shaped or very narrowly funnel-shaped; tube 7–8.5 cm. long, 0.7 cm. in diameter; limb 2–4 cm. long, 5–6(–10) cm. wide. Capsule globose, 2–3 cm. in diameter. Seeds black, subtrigonous, ± 1 cm. long, densely short tomentose and with a narrow ridge of longer hairs ± 3–6 mm. long.
