Information
Morning glory (Eng.). Climbing herb up to several m long; stems pilose with retrorse hairs. Leaf-blades 3–17 x 3–16 cm, entire to deeply 3-lobed, cordate at the base, acuminate at the apex, appressed pilose; petiole 1.5–6(–18) cm long. Cymes few–several-flowered; peduncle 0.5–8(–20) cm long; pedicels 2–15 mm long; bracts linear to oblanceolate, 6–16 mm long. Sepals lanceolate, 14–22 x 3–5 mm, pilose, at least near base. Corolla blue or purplish blue, with pale throat, 5–8.5 cm long, funnel-shaped, glabrous. Capsule globose, c. 10 mm in diam., glabrous. Seeds glabrous.
Range
Cultivated as an ornamental and locally naturalised at least in N1 (Hargeysa) pantropical.
Distribution
SOMALIA Thulin 10728. First record for Somalia.
