Information
Herb to 70 cm., woody towards base. Stems procumbent, branching, shortly but distinctly more or less densely glandular pubescent. Leaves 0.7–5 × 0.7–5 cm., ovate to more or less subcircular, more or less fleshy; very shortly and evenly glandular pubescent on both surfaces, base rounded, more or less truncate or broadly cuneate, apex rounded to acute, apiculate, margins entire or often repand; petioles 5–25 mm. long, glandular pubescent. Inflorescences verticillate, long pedunculate, peduncles glandular-pubescent. Bracts linear-lanceolate, 2.5–4 mm. long, glandular pubescent particularly along margins. Pedicels 0.5–5 mm. long elongating up to 11 mm. in fruit, glandular pubescent. Perianth 4–6 mm. long, spreading up to 7 mm., lower portion sulcate, with prominent globose viscid glands around apex, glabrous, upper portion 2.5–4 m. long, widely infundibuliform with very short inconspicuous tube, purple, mauve or pink, glabrescent to glandular-pubescent. Stamens 2–3, 6–10 mm. long; anthers 0.5–0.8 mm. long, transverse elliptic to subcircular, Ovary 0.65–0.75 mm. long, ellipsoid, stipitate, glabrous; style 5–7 mm. long. Anthocarps 6–7.5 × 1.5–2 mm., clavate, tapering at both ends, with sessile viscid glands scattered over surface, 5 (6) gland-warts remaining distinctly prominent around apex in dried state.
