Names
Coleus montanus Gürke [family LABIATAE], in Engl. Jahrb. xix. 218.
Information
Stems branched, pubescent, 1 1/2–2 ft. long. Leaves oblong or ovate-oblong, 1–1 1/2 in. long, the upper sessile, the lower shortly stalked, acute, rounded or narrowed to the base, crenate, pubescent on both sides, dotted with black glands beneath. Inflorescence racemose, lax; cymes long-peduncled, 3–5-flowered; bracts broadly ovate; pedicels 1/8– 1/5 in. long. Fruit-calyx 1/6 in. long, glandular-pubescent outside, naked on the throat inside; upper tooth round-ovate, obtuse; lateral teeth rather shorter, lanceolate, acuminate; lower longer, almost subulate.
