Information
Small tree to 7 m. high, young branches densely pubescent, older branches becoming glabrous. Leaf-rhachis to 35 cm. long with dense greyish brown indumentum. Leaflets to 15 pairs, oblong-elliptic to narrowly oblong, 3.5–14 cm. long, 1.5–3 cm. wide, apex rounded to sub-acuminate, base rounded, oblique, chartaceous; upper surface ± glabrous, lower surface with dense cinerous pubescence; lateral nerves 7–9 pairs, arcuate, ascending. Inflorescences axillary, densely fascicled on older branchlets, racemose; rhachis to 13 cm. long; rhachis, bracts, pedicels and sepals densely pubescent. Sepals narrowly elliptic, 6.5 mm. long, 2 mm. wide. Petals white or creamish, narrowly elliptic, 7.5 mm. long, 2.5 mm. wide, glabrous. Stamens 10; long-stamened flowers, 5 episepalous stamens to 6 mm. long, 5 epipetalous to 4 mm. long; short-stamened flowers, 5 episepalous stamens to 2 mm. long, 5 epipetalous to 1.3 mm. long, filaments free, flattened, glabrous. Ovary ovoid, ± 0.5 mm. long; styles of long-stamened flowers to 1 mm. long, strongly recurved; those of short-stamened flowers to 4 mm. long, puberulous. Ovules basally affixed. Fruit a scarlet pyriform follicle to 2.5 cm. long, 1.2 cm. diam.; rostrum ± 1 cm. long; surface longitudinally rugose and densely beset with short stiff bristles. Mature seeds not seen.

Notes
The type gathering of this species seems to be of unusual vigour, with large inflorescences and flower buds. Future collections may give smaller measurements for flower parts than stated here; present material is very scanty and further gatherings, especially of mature fruits and seeds, are needed in order to give a more complete account of the plant.
