erect, ramulous, with villoso-tomentose, at length naked twigs; leaves trifoliolate and tufted, subsessile; leaflets linear, with reflexed margins, one-nerved beneath, obtuse, callous-tipped, glabrous; stipules membranous, amplexicaul, toothed, villoso-ciliate. Drege, 5381, 2353, and 6843. An erect, somewhat virgate and ramulous, straight-stemmed bush, with close-pressed branches, well covered with leaves. Leaftufts close; leaflets 2–3–4 lines long, 1/4– 1/3 line wide, varying from exactly linear to linear-oblong, dull green. The narrow leaved forms resemble C. ericæfolia, but differ in the tomentose twigs and prominent midrib; the wider leaved come very near C. serpyllifolia, γ. polyphylla, but have less expanded, more decidedly reflexed-edged leaflets.
