Information
Perennial, with erect stems sometimes woody at the base, 4–9 dm. tall, strongly longitudinally striate, with spreading shaggy hairs. Leaves simple, ovate, up to 9 cm. long and 5.5 cm. broad, sessile or shortly petioled, coarsely and somewhat irregularly dentate, or sometimes obscurely lobed, with distinct scattered hairs. Flowers mostly solitary at the ends of the stems, 6.5–12 cm. in diameter. Sepals spreading, softly hairy on both surfaces, white tinged mauve to purplish rose. Fruit unknown.

DISTR. T7 endemic in Southern Highlands of Tanganyika
Altitude range
1800–2800 m.
