Information
Erect shrub, 0.5–2 m high; branches densely pubescent. Leaves alternate, pubescent on both sides; blade elliptic to ovate or broadly ovate, rarely ± circular, 4.5–25 x 3–16 mm, acute to retuse at the apex, rounded to cuneate at the base; petiole 1.5–7 mm long, pubescent. Male inflorescence axillary, cymose, pubescent; peduncle 0–2 mm long; pedicels 3.5–5 mm long. Male flowers: sepals slightly unequal, 2.5–3.5 x 1–2 mm, ovate to elliptic, acute, pubescent outside; corolla 7.5–10 mm long, 5-lobed, becoming 5-parted, with tube 5.5–6 mm long; stamens ± equal; filaments 4–4.5 mm long, hairy and jointed at the base. Female inflorescence an axillary, solitary cyme; peduncle 0–2.5 mm long; pedicels 2.5–5(–7) mm long. Female flowers: sepals slightly unequal, 3 outer broadly elliptic, 5–6 x 3.5–5, 2 inner elliptic to spathulate, 5.5 x 2.5 mm; corolla 6–7.5 mm long, tube 3–4 mm; ovary glabrous; styles 2–4 mm long, with complicated stigma-lobes; staminodes 3–4 mm long. Fruiting sepals ± equal, 6–10 x 4.5–10 mm, pubescent. Capsule ovate, glabrous, 1-seeded. Seeds (young) brownish, 2 x 2 mm.
