Information
Rhizome shortly creeping, with bright orange-brown scales 15 mm long, 0.8 mm wide. Fronds 5–30, tufted, 7–32 cm long; stipe 2.5–20 cm long, purple-brown, hairy throughout and with dense tuft of scales at base similar to those on rhizome; lamina lanceolate to oblong or triangular-elliptic, 3.5–20 cm long, 2–9(–11) cm wide, pinnate; pinnae in ± 11–14 pairs, lanceolate in outline, 1.5–3.5 cm long, 1 cm wide, deeply pinnatifid, the ultimate segments oblong, 2–22 mm long, 2–25 mm wide, again crenate or pinnatifid, obtuse, pilose beneath or tomentose with dense matted hairs (sometimes a very few branched), at first white but eventually ferruginous, subglabrous to thinly pubescent on upper surface; venation obscure. Sori marginal, discrete but forming a continuous soral line at maturity; indusium continuous or irregularly discontinuous, narrow, ciliate, membranous.
