Information
Evergreen tree, 4–8 m high; young branches ± densely appressed pubescent. Leaves with rhachis (2–)5–17 cm long; leaflets (2–)5–12 pairs, coriaceous, alternate or subopposite, oblong to ± ovate or obovate, 0.6–4.5 x 0.2–1.7 cm, puberulous on both surfaces or glabrous above. Inflorescences sessile, 2.5–6 cm long, 40–50-flowered, catkin-like when young. Flowers unisexual; male flowers with filaments 3–6(–7.5) mm long, anthers 1–1.5 mm long; female flowers with a subcylindrical pistil with a U-shaped stigma, and minute staminodes. Pods reddish-brown, 1.5–10 x 1–1.3 cm, 1–13-seeded, constricted between the seeds when dry. Seeds oblong to ovate, 5–6.5 x 3.5–4.5 mm.
