Information
plant 1/2– 3/4 ft. high; stem rather stout, leafy; leaves cauline, rather numerous, suberect, linear, acute, 3/4–2 in. long; scapes 1/2– 3/4 ft. high; spikes oblong, 2 1/2–3 1/2 in. long, dense, many-flowered; bracts deltoid-lanceolate, long-acuminate, 4–8 lin. long; pedicels 3–4 lin. long; flowers rather small, sepals green and dull purple, petals and appendage of lip pink, lip with radiating pink stripes on a pale ground, tubercle of lip green, and anthers red-brown; dorsal sepal reflexed, elliptic-ovate, obtuse, concave, scarcely 2 lin. long; lateral sepals spreading, elliptic-ovate, concave, scarcely 2 lin. long; petals deflexed, broadly unguiculate, flabellate, crenulate and concave above, 2 1/2 lin. long by nearly as broad; lip broadly unguiculate; limb broadly flabellate, deeply crenate, 2 1/2 lin. broad, subconcave, with a prominent rhomboid fleshy crest; appendage erect, bipartite, with flattened horn-like obtuse curved lobes, 1 1/2 lin. long; column short; arms of the rostellum auriculate, fleshy, short. null
