Notes
This species in a wide sense, but particularly var. senna, is the main source of the well-known medicine of that name. The status of the plant in East Africa is quite uncertain; it may well be an introduction (it has been cultivated at Amani). The solitary specimen from the Flora area is thinly appressed-puberulous, with narrow very acute leaflets up to about 4–5 cm. long and 6–7 mm. wide, and slightly falcate pods about 3.5–5 cm. long and 1.7–1.9 cm. wide.
