Information
Plants erect, very robust, up to 150 cm tall and forming large clumps; stems erect, not rooting adventitiously, olive- to grey-green, up to 70 mm wide, the angles conspicuously winged with closely set usually prominent and often reflexed teeth. Flowers in very large terminal cluster of umbel-like inflorescences; pedicels 4–6 cm long. Corolla 15–20 mm wide, rotate or shallowly saucer-shaped, brown to almost black, rugulose, glabrous or variously pubescent; lobes broadly ovate-triangular. Corona same colour as the corolla, hairy, outer lobes divided into 2 erect but recurved horns.
