CAPPARIS Gueinzii Sond. [family CAPPARACEAE]
Information
twigs downy; stipules spiny, incurved; leaves petiolate, oblongo-lanceolate, obtuse at each end, minutely emarginate, glabrous, the midrib downy; racemes axillary, as long as the leaves or little shorter; flowers polyandrous. Branches slender, flexuous, terete. Leaves 2 inches long, 1/2 inch wide, one nerved, with inconspicuous veins; petiole 2–3 lines long. Racemes spreading, axillary; uppermost leafless, paniculate; rachis downy, upper pedicels corymbose, 3–4 lines long. Flowers yellow: sepals ovate, obtuse, 2 lines long; petals as long, stamens, about 30. Resembes C. Zeyheri, Turcz, from which it differs in the non-attenuate leaves, larger flowers and more numerous stamens.
