Twigs, petioles and leaves glabrous or glabrescent. Leaves thin. Flowers borne in clusters of 5–18. Gynophore, in fruit, ± 1 mm. in diameter.

Notes
This variety is practically indistinguishable from G. sepiaria var. sepiaria, which ranges from India to northern Australia. It is also very similar to C. citrifolia Lam., of Central and South Africa, but the sepals are smaller and the texture and pubescence of the leaves is different.
