Information
Shrub 1–3 m high; branches pale brown, brittle. Leaves petiolate; blade narrowly ovate, 4–12 cm long, 1–4 cm wide, acute to acuminate at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous; petiole 4–11 mm long. Inflorescence solitary, few-flowered; peduncle 4–23 mm long with a few distal bracts; bracts oblong, 1–4 mm long, 1–2 mm wide; pedicels 7–19 mm long. Flowers with sepals persistent, 4–9 mm long; corolla white, tube 13–21 mm long, cylindrical; lobes obtriangular, oblique, with two apices, one rounded and one acute, 8–18 mm long, 7–15 mm wide; stamens inserted about halfway up the tube; pistil 13–18 mm long. Fruits probably orange, the mericarps syncarp for 66–90%, 13–23 mm long, 15–23 mm in diameter, not ridged, not beaked; seeds 5–7 mm long, 2.5–3.5 mm in diameter. Fig. 16 (p. 51).
