Notes
The scales on the leaves and other parts of C. farinosa agg. are waxy in appearance and are perhaps a protective secretion. In subsp. farinosa they are sessile or very shortly stipitate, whereas in subsp. adenotricha they are largely stipitate, the stalks being of varying length. It is difficult to tell whether these stipitate scales are morphologically the same as the sessile scales of subsp. farinosa or whether they are colourless non-secretive stalked glands, as Gilg & Benedict seem to have regarded them.
