Information
Climbing or scrambling perennial herb or subshrub; stems up to several m long, glabrous, somewhat fleshy. Leaves fleshy, obovate to oblanceolate, 5–20 x 2–10 cm, pinnatifid with a large terminal lobe, ± auriculate at the base, irregularly dentate at the margin, glabrous. Capitula narrowly campanulate in round dense cymes; calyculus of 2–4 bracts, c. 3 mm long; phyllaries c. 7–8, oblong-linear, c. 6–7 mm long, glabrous except for tuft of hairs near the apex. Florets yellow; corolla 7.5–8 mm long, lobes c. 1–1.5 mm long. Achenes 2–2.5 mm long, black, pilose in grooves; pappus white, 5–7.5 mm long.

N1, 2 widespread in tropical Africa southwards to Transvaal and Natal,

1300–1700 m.
