Information
Erect or somewhat twining herb, 12–60 cm tall, from a subglobose tuber; stem not or sparsely branched, glabrous. Leaves ± in a rosette at the base of the plant, linear-oblanceolate to broadly obovate, 30–170 x 7–65 mm, denticulate, glabrous. Raceme pedunculate, fairly lax; pedicels 0.5–8 mm long. Calyx-lobes 1.5–8 mm long, entire. Corolla 5.5–15 mm long, pink, mauve or white, split to the base into 2 lips, the upper 3-lobed, the lower consisting of 2 free petals. Filaments broadened at the base, free; anthers 1–1.6 mm long, glabrous or pubescent on the back, penicillate at the apex. Capsule subglobose, inferior part membranous with 10 distinct nerves connected by weak transverse nerves; valves 2.5–5 mm long. Seeds suborbicular, flat, 1.6–2 mm long, broadly winged.
