Epiphytic or lithophytic herb.Rhizome 0.8–3 mm in diameter.Pseudobulbs 0.7–4 cm apart on the rhizome, 2-leaved, 0.4–3.5 × 0.4–1.2 cm, ovoid, ellipsoid or suborbicular, somewhat 4-angled.Leaves with a petiole-like base up to 8 mm long; lamina 0.6–8.2 × 0.4–2 cm, linear-lanceolate to elliptic.Inflorescence 1.5–17.5 cm long, 5–36-flowered; peduncle 0.7–6.5 cm long, glabrous, 2–5-sheathed; rhachis up to 16 cm long, often somewhat nodding, enlarged and flattened, 4-angled in cross section, with the flowers borne in channels on opposite sides.Flowers distichous, spreading, many open at a time, not opening widely; sepals and petals yellow or orange, usually with red-purple stripes, lip deep orange or purple.Pedicel and ovary 1.8–3 mm long; bracts 3–7 mm long, triangular, spreading, scarious.Dorsal sepal 3–6.2 × 1–1.8 mm, ovate, not recurved; lateral sepals 3–7 × 1.5–3.2 mm, triangular, sometimes slightly recurved.Petals 1–3 × 0.2–0.6 mm, obliquely linear-lanceolate.Lip 1.4–2.5 × 0.6–1.2 mm, elliptic or oblong, recurved about half-way, lip underside swollen at base and apex, the 2 parts separated by a traverse furrow.Anther with a slightly concave, truncate or retuse protrusion which overtops the front margin; pollinia 4, ± orbicular but flattened, the larger about twice as long as the smaller.
