Information
Pseudobulbs 3/4–1 1/2 in. apart, on a creeping rhizome, oblong or elliptical-oblong, tetragonous, 7–12 lin. long, diphyllous. Leaves oblong or elliptical-oblong, obtuse, 1/2–2 1/4 in. long, 3 1/2–6 lin. broad. Scapes suberect, somewhat arching above the middle, 2–3 1/2 in. long; spikes 3/4–1 1/2 in. long. Bracts distichous, lax, triangular-ovate, acuminate, 1–2 lin. long. Sepals subequal, triangular-ovate, acuminate, 2 lin. long. Petals subulate-linear, acute, 1 lin. long. Lip very fleshy, oblong, obtuse, glabrous, 3/4 lin. long, with an acute keel in front, and two similar lateral ones behind, which terminate abruptly at the base as winglike appendages. Column 1/2 lin. long; teeth very short, obtuse, and winglike.

Notes
A flowerless specimen from Sierra Leone, Afzelius, in Swartz's Herbarium appears to be a luxuriant form of this species.
