Information
Rhizomes 3– 15 cm in diameter including scales, erect, to 100 cm tall; scales 25– 35≈ 1– 2 mm, linear-lanceolate, dark brown to blackish with paler margins. Stipes 4– 52≈ 0.3– 0.6 cm, longer in fertile than in sterile fronds. Fronds erect, pinnate, fertile and sterile laminae similar in size, 40– 120≈ 3– 25 cm, narrowly elliptic in outline, middle pinnae bluntly acute to acuminate at apex, middle sterile pinnae free or adnate on basiscopic margin, middle fertile pinnae free, lower pinnae reduced, sometimes to auricles, longest sterile pinnae 7– 18≈ 0.8– 2.2 cm, very narrowly elliptic to cuneate base, margin entire, often inrolled, longest fertile pinnae linear, 4– 15≈ 0.2– 0.6 cm. Sori extending along most of fertile pinnae, unbroken, indusium lacerate, 0.5– 2 mm wide. Fig. 1/6 (p. 3).
