T. stans (L.) Kunth var. stans ‘Yellow elder’ is one of the most widely grown species of the family and has become naturalised in many parts of the world. Only material is cited which has a fairly clear indication of naturalisation; some of that previously cited as cultivated could be from naturalised populations. It is widely grown in East Africa, e.g. Uganda: Mengo District: Kampala, Makerere University Hill, 5 May 1971, Lye 6007!. Kenya: Naivasha District: Lake Naivasha, 26 Nov. 1963, E.
