Information
is a tall, sturdy plant with entire-margined, linear-lanceolate, glabrous leaves up to 13 cm. long; there are often spiny buds in the leaf-axils; both the flowers and fruit are bright scarlet, the capsules broadly 3-winged.
Range
native to Brazil.
Notes
Alien Begonia species are occasionally found as escapes from cultivation.
