plant 2–9 in. high, with two ovoid tubers; leaf solitary, horizontal, sessile, broadly cordate or orbicular with a cordate base, flat or slightly convex, 1/2 to more than 1 in. long by about as broad; scapes erect, 2–9 in. high, copiously pilose with long spreading hairs, 1-flowered; bracts spathaceous, oblong-lanceolate, subacute, pubescent, 1/3– 1/2 in. long; pedicels 1/2– 3/4 in. long, pubescent; flowers very large, with light green sepals and lilac or light purple petals and lip; dorsal sepal cucullate, lanceolate, subacute, pubescent, 1/3– 1/2 in. long; lateral sepals linear-oblong, subacute, pubescent, about as long as the dorsal; petals lanceolate-linear, long-acuminate, one-third longer than the sepals; lip spreading, fan-shaped, 3/4–1 1/4 in. long, divided to below the middle into numerous filiform or narrowly linear acuminate segments; disc smooth; spur curved, narrowly conical, acute or subacute, 1/4– 1/3 in. long; column clavate, 1/4 to more than 1/3 in. long. null
