Type: Tanganyika, Lake Tandangongoro, Busse 2486 (BM, EA, iso.!)
Information
Small tree ± 5m. high (fide Harms). Young stems shortly brown pubescent. Leaves: petiole 6–9 mm., the interpulvinary part distinct and shorter than or equalling the pulvini; lamina elliptic- to obovate-acuminate, 3–7.5 cm. long, 1.5–3 cm. wide, rounded and ± asymmetrical at the base, coriaceous; lower surface glabrous, or pubescent when very young and soon glabrescent, upper surface glabrous. Flowers in few-flowered fascicles or solitary in the leaf-axils; pedicels 10–12 mm., somewhat thickened in the upper part, densely brown pubescent; bracteoles reniform to semicircular, ± 0.5–1.5 mm., inserted immediately beneath the calyx. Calyx 7–8 mm. long, shortly appressed pubescent with brown hairs, or glabrous. Petals white with yellow blotch, 8–9 mm. long. Stamen-filaments glabrous; anthers ± 1.4 mm. long. Ovary glabrous, or with hairs ± restricted to the margins. Pod not known.
