Notes
Two specimens of B. pedicellaris from the Tana River area near Ijara (K1) are similar to some specimens of B. rotundifolia. While superficially appearing to match Bally 2076 and 2116, Bally 2091 (B. rotundifolia var. setulifera, collected in the same area), exhibits greater separation of spines from the nodes, remains of a 4-merous disc at the base of the fruit and short stiff hairs on a few of the leaflets.
