Information
annual or biennial, herbaceous or at base lignescent, erect, diffuse or prostrate, simple or much branched, sparsely pilose or nearly glabrous, or glandular-pubescent; leaves narrow-linear, callous tipped, nerveless, mostly rigidly ciliate; fl. branches peduncular, one-headed; invol.-scales acute or subobtuse, margined, hispidulous or glabrous; achenes minutely pubescent. Very variable in size and pubescence. Stems 2–14 inches high. Roots either threadlike and simple, or of many robust fibres, the prostrate portions of the branches rooting at base. Lvs. 1/4 inch to 2 inches long. Pubescence hairy or glandular and viscidulous. None of the above varieties are constant to the given characters.
