Terrestrial, very occasionally a low-level epiphyte or lithophyte; rhizome ± 5 mm diameter, erect (?to creeping), with tufted fronds and lanceolate-attenuate subentire clathrate dark brown rhizome scales up to 2.5 mm long, with a narrow ferrugineous margin. Frond erect or arching, narrowly oblong to linear, 15–60 cm long, sometimes proliferous near the apex, firmly membranous. Stipe glossy dark brown, 2–16 cm long, terete, glabrous. Lamina linear in outline, 12–50x1.5–3.3 cm, 1-pinnate, hardly decrescent below. Pinnae 18–49 pairs, up to 1.7x0.8 cm, shortly petiolate, mostly oblong, slightly dimidiate, rounded, shallowly auriculate, acroscopically becoming increasingly deflexed and unequally triangular towards the base, shallowly crenate on the acroscopic and outer margins, glabrous on both surfaces. Rachis glossy dark brown, sulcate ventrally. Sori brown, up to 3 mm long, 2–7(–8) per pinna, oblong; indusium linear, membranous, entire. Fig. 2: 13–14, p. 14.
