Information
Rhizome 3 mm. in diam., erect, with tufted fronds and with lanceolate to narrowly ovate dark-brown clathrate entire rhizome-scales c. 1–5 mm. long. Frond arching, herbaceous, proliferating below the deeply pinnatifid apical segment with 3–5 lobes. Stipe greyish-brown with narrow green wings when fresh, up to 17 cm. long, usually less than 1/2 the length of the lamina, often uniform-grey-brown when dry with occasional clathrate scales similar to those of the rhizome becoming more frequent towards the base. Lamina up to 39 x 6 cm., deeply 2-pinnatifid, very narrowly oblong to narrowly oblong-elliptic in outline, apex acute to cuneate, lowest pinnae hardly reduced. Pinnae up to 3.5 x 1.1 cm., up to 32 pairs, petiolate, oblong or narrowly oblong in outline, variously acute-auriculate with the acroscopic basal lobe 2–4-fid, most of the other segments very narrowly oblong-obtuse (some larger segments 2-fid) up to 6 x 1.5 mm., subglabrous with a few minute substellate scales on the veins. Rhachis matt-greyish-green when dried, with occasional pale-brown minute substellate scales. Sori c. 2 mm. long, broadly elliptic at maturity; indusium elliptic, entire, membranous.
