ASPARAGUS deflexus Baker [family ASPARAGACEAE], in Trans. Linn. Soc. ser. 2, Bot. i. 254.
Information
A much-branched climbing shrub. Branches slender, glabrous, the lower deflexed; branchlets many, short. Leaves with a short deflexed pungent spur. Cladodia 6–10 in a cluster, subulate, very slender, 1/4– 1/3 in. long. Flowers 1–2 axillary or 4–6 from the tip of the branchlets; pedicels 1/8– 1/6 in. long, articulated at the middle. Perianth 1/8 in. long; segments oblong-spathulate. Stamens distinctly shorter than the perianth; anthers oblong, minute.
