Notes
Cordemoy gave no information about collector in either reference. Pichi Sermolli chose a neotype after an intensive search for authentic material. Eight years later, without any explanation, Schelpe & Anthony gave the type as “Réunion, Boivin 881 (P, holo.)”. The only Réunion specimen I have seen is a duplicate of Boivin 881 (BM!) and study of it has not convinced me that the name A. monocarpa should be restricted to populations from Réunion as suggested by Lawalrée in B.J.B.B. 60: 319 (1990).
