Notes
S. natalensis is very distinct from the other species in the Flora Zambesiaca area by the flowers being 3 in each cluster and opening truly apically, without the truncate lateral shield of the other species. The green or greenish colour of dried specimens is noteworthy and there is a marked tendency for the lateral branches to be curved or arcuate and not almost straight. For comments on hybrids see note under S. decumbens. All material from the Flora Zambesiaca area appears to the typical S. natalensis.
