slender, erect, sub-simple, glabrescent or thinly appresso-puberulent; stipules small, subulate; petioles shorter than the linear, acute, infolded leaflets; flowers solitary (rarely in pairs) opposite the leaf, sub-sessile; bracts setaceous; lower lip of the thinly pubescent calyx trifid; vexillum silky; legume sparsely appresso-pubescent. Closely allied on the one hand to A. tuberosum, and on the other to A. filiforme, from both which it differs in inflorescence, and is more glabrous than either.
