Afiliforme Harv. β. uniflorum [family ], in Hb. Hook.
Information
slender, erect, sub-simple, glabrescent or thinly appresso-puberulent; stipules small, subulate; petioles shorter than the linear, acute, infolded leaflets; flowers solitary (rarely in pairs) opposite the leaf, sub-sessile; bracts setaceous; lower lip of the thinly pubescent calyx trifid; vexillum silky; legume sparsely appresso-pubescent. Closely allied on the one hand to A. tuberosum, and on the other to A. filiforme, from both which it differs in inflorescence, and is more glabrous than either. It appears to be not uncommon in Albany, and constant to the differences noted. Stems 10–18 inches long. Leaves few and distant. Flowers smaller and much less hairy than in A. filiforme.
