A shrub; branchlets shortly pubescent when young, at length glabrous; bark smooth, slightly glaucous-grey. Leaves oblanceolate or oblong-oblanceolate, cuspidate-acuminate, acute at the base, 4–6 in. long, 1–2 in. broad, papery, glabrous on both surfaces except on the midrib, which is pubescent above and below; lateral nerves 6–9 on each side, looped near the margin, very slightly impressed above, prominent below; veins lax; petiole 2–3 lin. long, slightly wrinkled, very sparingly pubescent or glabrous; stipules entire, linear-lanceolate, subacute, 2–3 1/2 lin. long, pubescent. Female spikes in the fruiting stage 5–6 in. long, axis minutely puberulous. Flowers not known. Fruits sessile, elliptic, somewhat acute at both ends, compressed, 3–4 lin. long, 2 lin. broad, tipped by the persistent styles, sparingly adpressed-pubescent.
