Information
A tree, 20–25 yards high; branches grey or brown, the upper very spinous. Leaves sessile, obovate-oblong, 16–30 in. long, 6–8 in. broad, rounded at the apex, furnished with recurved round auricles at the base, chartaceous, glabrous. Panicle large, terminal, thyrsoid; bracts scale-like; pedicels 1/8– 1/4 in. long. Calyx-lobes orbicular, emarginate, 1/3 in. long. Corolla 3 times the length of the calyx; tube subcylindrical; lobes 10–12, narrow oblong, much shorter than the tube.
