Information
Short stout rhizome. Basal leaves biternate to ternate, the segments varying in size and lobing, lobes 2–10 cm. long, 0.8–5 cm. broad; petioles 7–17 cm. long, densely lanate-pubescent towards the base, especially on the sheathing part, with spreading hairs, or rarely glabrous above. Flowering stems 3–8 dm. tall, with dense lanate pubescence towards the base, usually shortly densely pubescent in inflorescence parts. Flowers simply or compoundly “umbellate,” 2–15, usually 2.5–3 cm. in diameter, sweet-scented. Tepals white, sometimes outer tinged with purple. Carpels glabrous.
