Information
Plant with a stout rhizome. Basal leaves palmately tripartite with segments 2.5–7 x 3–7 cm, lobed and crenate-dentate, glabrous or with ciliate margins; petiole 5–15 cm long, sparsely pubescent or subglabrous. Stem leaves deeply divided, ± sparsely pubescent. Flowering stems to 18 cm tall, appressed pubescent; pedicel 2–4 cm long, densely pubescent in upper part. Flowers solitary or paired. Petal-like sepals 10–18, blue or mauve, 15–30 mm long, obtuse, emarginate or variously divided at the apex. Carpels pilose; style erect, straight.
