Information
Hispid, especially the stems and leaf-sheaths. Stems 15 in. long, branched throughout their length, at the base erect, with the lowest leaves reduced to pale brown scales; roots thick. Leaves up to 3 1/2 by 1/4– 1/3 in., linear-lanceolate. Panicle terminal, peduncled, 1 1/2 by 3/4–1 in., dense, thinly hairy; lowest bracts 1/6– 1/5 in. long, lanceolate; bracteoles hardly 1/8 in. long, ovate. Sepals 1/8 in. long, glabrate. Petals small, blue. Capsule 1/5 in. long, 2-celled, 4-seeded, rounded on the shoulders.
