ANDROPOGON diversifolius Rendle [family POACEAE], in Cat. Afr. Pl. Welw. ii. 148.
Information
Blades of the cauline leaves 3/4 to over 1 in. wide at the base, rapidly tapering upwards. Inflorescence a scanty panicle of 3–4 distant 2-rayed usually simple tiers, or sometimes the lowest branch undivided at the base, several-noded, otherwise as in the type.
Range
The typical form extends southwards through Basutoland and the Transvaal to Natal.
Distribution
Angola Lower Guinea Pungo Andongo; in rocky wooded places between Caghui and Candumba, Welwitsch, 2835! Benguella; in thickets at the sources of the Cuariri River, Gossweiler, 2716!French Guinea Upper Guinea Futa Jallon; between Daloba and Sangueta, Chevalier, 20187! Timbo, Pobéguin, 1779!
