Information
Thallus irregularly lobed, up to 3 in. across. Stems up to 8 in. long, slender, much-branched. Leaves 2–4 in. long, divided into very narrow linear segments. Flowers either solitary on the thallus or in glomerules on the stem; bracteoles 2, minute; spathellæ about 1 in. long, irregularly bursting at the apex. Filaments about 1/2 lin. long; anthers oblong, shorter than the filaments. Staminodes minute. Ovary ellipsoid; style bifid, stigmatose on the inner side. Capsule 3/4 lin. long, on a pedicel 2 lin. long, brown, marked with 8 paler ribs.
