ANABASIS ehrenbergii Boiss. [family CHENOPODIACEAE], (1877).
Information
Sprawling or prostrate perennial, stems to 50 cm long, ± woody; glabrous except for pilose fertile axils. Leaves obovoid, c. 3 x 1.5 mm, obtuse, overlapping on some lateral branches. Flowers sometimes ± terminal on lateral shoots, shorter than subtending leaves. Perianth-segments c. 2.5 mm long, oblong, base and midrib indurated, tip rounded, scarious, slightly lacerate; anthers as long as filaments, not exserted, tip acuminate; stigma purple. Fruit not seen.
