Information
Climbing perennial herb. Stems slender, covered in pale to ferruginous sericeous hairs. Leaflets 2.5–6 × 2–4.8 cm, elliptic to broadly elliptic or narrowly to broadly ovate, mucronate, sparsely sericeous on upper surface, sparsely to densely sericeous beneath; petiole 1.5–8.7 cm long; rhachis 0.3–1.5 cm long; stipules 6–10 mm long, lanceolate, striate, persistent. Inflorescences of many-flowered lax racemes; peduncle 2–7 cm long; bracts 5–10 × 2–3 mm, oblong-lanceolate, striate. Calyx tube 5–7 mm long; lobes 2–4 × 1–3 mm, triangular. Standard deep violet to lavender, paler towards the centre and base, 10–15 × 5–7 mm, obovate; wings and keel violet or white tinged with blue or purple. Pod 2–3.5 cm × 4–6 mm, linear-oblong, mucronate, compressed, glabrous except along the ciliate margin, 3–4-seeded. Seeds dark brown or deep purple, 3 × 2 × 2 mm, ovoid.
