Information
acaulescent; leaves 30–40, densely rosulate, multifarious, all ascending, ovate-lanceolate, very acuminate, 3–4 in. long, 1/2– 3/4 in. broad low down, glaucous green, obscurely lineate, unspotted, 1/4 in. thick, slightly tubercled on the face; margin with copious deltoid-cuspidate white prickles 1/12 in. long; back with copious, irregularly seriate, white horny tubercles and a few prickles; peduncle stout, simple, about a foot long, furnished with numerous ovate-anceolate empty bracts; raceme lax, simple, about 1/2 ft. long; pedicels ascending, 3/4–1 in. long; bracts large, ovate-lanceolate; perianth straight, cylindrical, bright red, 1 1/4–1 1/2 in. long; tube 1/4– 1/3 in. long; stamens and style finally just exserted. null
