Aloe namibensis occurs on the edge of the central Namib Desert, north of the main road between Windhoek and Swakopmund. It does not penetrate into such harsh areas as A. asperifolia (no. 67). The scanty rainfall mostly occurs in summer. Fog occurs at night at all times of the year. Map 50.
