Leaves lanceolate ensiform, 18–21 in. long, 5–6 in. broad low down. Flowers bright yellow.

Notes
Cultivated by the late Mr. Peacock at Hammersmith, and by Todaro at Palermo, raised from seeds received from Schimper. No specimen in the Kew Herbarium. A. Deleuili, Hort., is a garden hybrid raised by Deleuil of Hyères by crossing this species with the South African A. ferox.
