Information
Shrub up to 5 m. tall; branchlets greyish-white, minutely appressed-pubescent. Leaves 3-foliolate; petiole 1–3 cm. long, minutely appressed-pubescent or nearly glabrous; leaflets subequal or the terminal one a little longer, sessile or subsessile; lamina of terminal leaflet 3·5–8·5 × 1–2 (2·5) cm., narrowly elliptic, subcoriaceous, sparsely appressed-pubescent when young and soon glabrescent, minutely glandular and punctate on the under surface, apex rounded, margin rather remotely and shallowly serrulate, base cuneate; lateral nerves 5–8 pairs. Inflorescence 3–7 cm. long, usually branched, minutely appressed-pubescent to nearly glabrous. Flowers in few-flowered subsessile glomerules; pedicels up to 2·5 mm. long, glabrous. Outer sepals 2 × 2 mm., subcircular, minutely pubescent, inner 1·8 × 1·2 mm., broadly elliptic, minutely pubescent. Petals 1·5 × 1 mm., spathulate. Staminodes (no male flowers seen) with filaments 0·5 mm. long in female flowers. Ovary 2-lobed, minutely pubescent; style up to 1·5 mm. long, 2-fid. Fruit bright red, 6 mm. in diam., subglobose, sparsely pubescent when mature, 1 coccus usually developing.
