Information
Stoloniferous perennial up to 100 cm high. Panicle pyramidal, lobed, 2–15 cm long, dense, the branches subverticillate. Spikelets 1.5–2.5 mm long; glumes obtuse, scabrid on the back, awn-less; lemma c. 1 mm long, denticulate, awnless.
Range
N2 Mediterranean region eastwards to Northwest India.
Altitude range
c. 1750 m.
Distribution
SOMALIA McKinnon 271.
Notes
The species was probably introduced into Somalia, in the same general area as P. fugax, for its fodder value.
